Description:
The exposition of the museum is based on the concept developed from 1993 to 1998 "Ponyri - Land of Military Glory of Russia, Land of Memory and Reconciliation". It takes into account the experience of museums located in places where the Second World War claimed the most human lives. There is no such museum in Russia. The most promising and priority group of the museum considers the creation of a historical reserve on the territory where in July defensive battles was disrupted the plan of operation "Citadel", the creation of a memorial complex in Ponyri, which will include: museums, the building of the railway station with a memorial hall opened in it in 1998, a brotherly cemetery on p. "Victory", the station square - the place of fierce fighting in July 1943, the Klond Cross from the workshop of V.M. Klykov, installed on the site of the future construction of a memorial chapel in honor of St. George. George the Victorious.

The museum plans to create a historical reserve on the basis of the existing excursion route "Fiery Frontier". It will include preserved anti-tank strongholds, dugouts, trenches, the Trinity Church that survived the fire of the Battle of Kursk, and two war memorials opened in November 1943.
