In 1943, during the preparation and course of the Battle of Kursk, the KP and the headquarters of the Central Front under the command of K.K. Rokossovsky were located in Svoboda. On August 5, 1973, on the 30th anniversary of the victory at the Kursk Bulge, a memorial complex was opened in Svoboda, and on May 9, 1975 - the Museum of the KP of the Central Front. The exposition of the museum acquaints visitors with the burning and scale of organizational activities of the Central Front Command during the days of the Battle of Kursk. Here are the documents, personal belongings of officers and ordinary soldiers. Numerous materials clearly show the breadth, scope and historical significance of this battle. On the territory of the complex with an area of 7.1 hectares, cannons, a T-34 tank, a sculptural and architectural structure are exhibited, the dugout of K.K. Rokossovsky was restored. |
