Museum of Urban Electric Transport
Russia, Kursk, St. Aggregate, 5
About the company:
The Kursk region is known for a huge number of museums. It is not surprising that this is where the city’s electric transport museum is located. Thanks to the efforts of Gennady Danilenko, a master of rolling stock, the museum was opened in 1988, in the administrative premises of the Eastern Depot. The commission for the creation of the museum did a great job: the archives were studied, the information of veterans of production was rewritten. Therefore, each exhibition exhibit of the museum, and there are more than a hundred of them, has a uniqueness and greater reliability.
A huge delight is caused by the models of the first trams and the stopping pavilion made by N. I. Nosov. Among the exhibits of the museum are old photographs, personal belongings of employees, many documents of the late XIX century related to the construction of electric transport: copies of orders and orders of the city Duma, draft contracts.
The central place in the hall is occupied by the painting “Construction of a tram on Khersonskaya Street”, written by order of the museum by the artist F. Tregub. It clearly demonstrates all the difficulties in the way of creating electric transport. Here is a piece of rail laid more than 100 years ago.
In 1998, the building was reconstructed: another hall was added and the entrance was moved.
