Museum of Laishev Territory

The museum is located in the building of the House of Folk Art, has four exposition and one exhibition hall.

The exposition includes sections: "Laishevsky Krai from ancient times to the beginning of the XX century," "Laishev City from the middle of the XVI to the end of the XX century," "Economics of the Laishevsky District." A separate hall presents the permanent exhibition "River of Times: Life of the Derzhavin", opened in 2001.

The exposition presents materials of paleontology - tusk, mammoth tooth, limestone with a shell, a fragment of a fossilized tree, the remains of a fossilized trilobite; objects of archaeological cultures - Neolithic, Ananyin, Azelin, Imenkov; period of the Bulgar state, Golden Horde, Kazan Khanate - tools, jewelry, coins, etc. Among them is the cornucopia with the runic sign nach. X century, women's bracelets XII-XIV centuries, other rare finds.

A special place is occupied by the topic of the national composition of the Lashevsky district: materials on the life of Tatars, Kryashens (baptized Tatars), Russians, as well as the history of numerous landlord possessions, including the estates of D. Mozalevsky, V. Yushkov, B. Ilyin, P. Shchetinkin, etc. are presented. In the interiors there is a fishery of residents of Laishevsky district.

The exhibition "River of Times" tells about the life and work of G.R. Derzhavin, a native of the Laishev region, and the perpetuation of his memory in Tatarstan. The lifetime edition of the poet (1808) and the collection of books by G.R. Derzhavin are exhibited.

The history of the county town covers the period from 1557 to 1926. Among the numerous documents and exhibits are the seal of the Uyezd Regional Council, the personal seal of A.Y.Saydashev, the founder of the famous Muslim newspaper "Bayan-el-Hak", pre-revolutionary photographs, icons of the XVIII - XX centuries, etc.
