Church of the Signs of the Mother of God in the village of Veshalovka
ooh 8 March, 75, Veshalovka village
Description:
The Church of the Sign was built from 1768 to 1784 at the expense of Ya.A. Tatishchev, the son of Tsar Peter I’s favorite dayman A.D. Tatishchev. The author of the project is believed to have been the famous Russian architect Vasily Bazhenov.
Architecturally, the temple is made in the style of Russian Gothic, which is a rarity for central Russia. The building is characterized by lancet arches, islander peaks and five-domed, combining elements of classicism, European Gothic and ancient Russian architecture. The facades are decorated with white stone carved decoration. The bell tower consists of three tiers of round shape with balconies.
