International Street

ooh International, Lipetsk, Lipetsk region 398000, Russian Federation

Description:

International street is located in two districts of Lipetsk - Right Bank and Soviet. It has a length of about a kilometer and connects Gagarin Street with Cathedral Square. Once this area was built up mainly noble houses, near one of the most prestigious streets of the city - Noble.

The international street was originally named after the living yards located on it, it was an important economic district, where trade was constantly bubbling. The name survived after the reolution, but in 1957 the street was renamed Stalinskaya and remained so until 1961. After the end of the XXII Congress of the Communist Party, Stalin Street was renamed International Street.

From an architectural point of view, the International Street is a rather heterogeneous phenomenon with buildings of different nature. Despite the presence of modern buildings, the bulk of the residential area are houses built in the 1950s. At that time, this area was one of the most beautiful areas of Lipetsk, but nowadays two-storey buildings are already outdated - both stylistically and technically. Soon new high-rise buildings will appear in their place.
