Skorokhodov Street

Skorokhodov Street is one of the oldest streets of Lipetsk, known for the old plans of Lipetsk since the end of the XVIII century. Finally, the street was formed as a result of a large-scale restructuring, which was carried out in Lipetsk in the first half of the XIX century. This was due to the implementation of the new master plan of the city, signed by the emperor in 1805.

The historical name of the street is Canavnaya. It appeared due to the location of the street next to the drainage channel of the Lipovka River from the Upper Pond. The street received its modern name in honor of the communist V.N. Skorokhodov. As a teacher in one of the village councils of the Lipetsk district, he took an active part in collectivization and was brutally killed by his ardent opponents. On the street Skorokhodov to our days preserved historical buildings of the XIX century.
