About the company:
In the Lipetsk region there is a family estate Semyonovs. “What’s so special?” the traveler might ask. Are there few Semyonovs in Russia? The fact is that these are the same Semenovs, who since 1906 received the right to ascribe to their surname "Tian-Shansky", as a recognition of the outstanding merits of Peter Petrovich Semenov-Tian-Shansky, a geographer and botanist. He was born here in 1827, spent all his childhood in the estate, and then regularly came to his small homeland. In the park of the estate even preserved the oak planted by him.
The exposition of the Memorial Museum-Reserve tells not only about the researcher himself, but also about other members of his family - Petr Petrovich was not the only extraordinary representative of his kind. The museum contains samples of rocks, fragments of an entomological collection, photographs, personal belongings of Semenovs. Well preserved as a wooden house with a mezzanine, a typical building for a noble estate of the first half of the XIX century, and a park with exotic plants, ponds and fountains.
