About the company:
November 20, 2010, on the 100th anniversary of the death of Leo Tolstoy, at the station Lev Tolstoy (former railway station Astapovo Ryazano-Ural railway) was opened Memorial Museum in memory of Leo Tolstoy "Astapovo". This is a whole complex of all the buildings of the historic station and nearby houses, restored in their original form.
The Memorial Center is the memorial and literary museum of L.N. Tolstoy. It is located in the house of the station chief I.I. Ozolin. Here passed the last seven days of the life of Leo Tolstoy. Here the writer made the last entry in his diary: "03.11.1910". That's my plan. Do what you have to do, and let it be what happens. In the house at Astapovo station on November 7, 1910, the heart of Tolstoy stopped.
Until 1939, the memorial room in the Ozolinsky house existed “on a voluntary basis” and was preserved as a museum value, and later the room and the entire building were transferred to the State Museum of Leo Tolstoy. In December 1946, the official opening of the GMT branch took place.
Today, the complex "Tolstoy Memorial" also includes the cultural and educational center named after L.N. Tolstoy, opened on November 20, 2010.
