State Museum of Local Lore of Lyskovo

In 1919, the creation of a local history museum was started in Lyskov. According to documents and memoirs of contemporaries, unique collections of ancient weapons, paintings, porcelain, clothing, 49 manuscripts of princes and princes of Georgia were collected in it. In the late 40s, the museum was disbanded, two of the most valuable exhibits disappeared. In the 1948-50s, an attempt was made to revive the museum. During this period, not only were exhibits collected, but also research activities were actively carried out, which resulted in voluminous manuscripts on the history of the city. Also, a bibliographic list was compiled, which lists more than 120 books and brochures of all centuries on the history of the region. In the 60s, this museum was lost. Later, they tried to restore the former glory of the museum, but after 14 years the museum was closed again. In 1987, after collecting the remains of the exhibits, the now existing museum opened its doors. Over the years, thanks to the help of Lysk residents, things appeared in the museum that decorated the museum and raised its importance in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
