The Museum of the History of Dagestan Theatres was established in 1984 and reflects the history of the formation of the young theater art of the republic. Its formation began in the twentieth century and continues today, because the traditional culture of multinational Dagestan had no theater in the past. This is the uniqueness of the museum, showing the living history that is developing before our eyes. Today there are 10 professional theaters in the country. The oldest of them - Russian Drama and Kumyk musical-dramatic - formed in the early twentieth century. Later, the Avar, Dargin, Lak and Lezgin theaters appeared. Recently, the State Opera and Ballet Theatre opened; Azerbaijan, Nogai and Tabasaran theaters. |
