| The museum is open to visitors on October 20, 1920. The museum funds were based on exhibits of the historical society. At the origins of the museum were scientists, natives of our city S.K. Kuznetsov and M.G. Khudyakov. By will, the museum received from Kuznetsova’s widow part of her husband’s richest library and his works, published and unpublished.
Today, the museum has 6 expositions: "Nature of the Malmyzh Territory", "History of Museum Affairs in Malmyzh", "Historical Past of the Malmyzh Territory", "Malmyzh in the late XVIII - early XIX centuries.", "History of weaving in the Malmyzh Territory", "Capitalism in Malmyzh". Of particular interest are the collections of numismatics, Dymkov toys, painting, paleontology, etc. |
