Maikop Cathedral Mosque

Russia, Republic of Adygea, Maykop, Sovetskaya Street, 200

Description:

One of the most significant buildings of modern Maikop is undoubtedly the majestic cathedral mosque. It is an imposing, square building with four minarets in the corners. The mosque is crowned by a huge azure dome. The mosque appeared in Maikop relatively recently and immediately became a recognizable urban symbol.

The Maikop Mosque was built in 2000. Interestingly, the project was financed by the Sheikh of the Arab Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, Prince Khalid bin Sakr al-Qasimi. The main condition for providing them with funds was a tight deadline for completion of construction - the mosque was built in just a year and a half. Employees of Belorechenskstroy JSC worked on the construction of the building.

Unlike most mosques, non-Muslim tourists are allowed to visit the Maikop mosque, you only need to follow the established rules of conduct.
