Mineralnye Vody Airport is the largest airport in the South of Russia and is a first class international airport. It is equipped with modern aeronautical equipment and certified in ICAO Meteorological Minimum Categories I and II. The airport receives aircraft in the most difficult weather conditions. Every day about two thousand passengers and more than 10 tons of mail and cargo pass through it.
Mineralnye Vody Airport is considered to be the air gateway of the world-famous resorts of Caucasian Mineral Waters. Hundreds of thousands of people annually come for rest and treatment to the resorts of the Stavropol Territory: in Kislovodsk, Zheleznovodsk, Essentuki, Pyatigorsk, as well as to the ski resorts of Teberda, Dombay, Arkhyza, Elbrus. Unique sources of mineral waters, mild climate and clean air, alpine meadows, mountain rivers and lakes, the highest peak of Europe - Elbrus (5,642 m above sea level) attract tourists here.
The airport terminal complex Mineralnye Vody has an international terminal, a high-comfort service hall, a duty-free shop Duty FREE.
Currently, the airport complex is undergoing a major reconstruction, designed for three years.
September 27, 2007 at the airport "Mineralnye Vody" after major repairs opened the pavilion of arrival of domestic airlines. Now it is a pavilion with a modern interior, with waiting rooms (including a VIP-room of increased comfort) and baggage collection. The pavilion has new equipment for warning and control systems, access control, sound and visual information of passengers, fire and security alarms, video surveillance and video registration equipment. This completed the second of the four stages of the reconstruction of the airport complex "Mineral Waters"
In parallel, a new runway is being built, the technical characteristics of which will allow to accept all types of aircraft, both domestic and foreign.
