Caucasus. Climbing Elbrus. The highest point in Europe and Russia is the western peak of the volcano Elbrus 5642 m above sea level, the eastern peak 5621 m above sea level. It is located on the territory of Russia in Kabardino-Balkaria on the border with Karachay-Cherkessia and Abkhazia. Technically it is not a difficult route, but it is not given to everyone. The capricious weather on the assault site allows you to sometimes try to climb, but not to conquer it. Proud handsome Elbrus, as the locals say, a real Caucasian. Nearby, 5 km from Azau valley Narzanov and you can drink real narzan, which flows directly from under the stones. The national cuisine is represented by a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. The infrastructure is well developed. There are post offices and souvenir shops, hotels and shops. 1-2 days Train Ufa - Pyatigorsk. Further on the bus to Terskol p. through Baksan. In Terskol near the base of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, we camp and if we arrive in the evening or at night, we sleep in tents. 3 day Breakfast, walk to the peak of terraskol, with a call to the waterfall "Maiden Spits". In one of the films V. Vysotsky starred here. A snack for lunch. The lower acclimatization begins, from the peak of Terskol (height 3100) we descend to the village of Terskol (2200). Possibly a sign of a miner. Dinner. 4th day Breakfast, exit to Azau station. Climbing to the station "Mir", snacking and descent (possibly to reduce the time of climbing from Azau on the lift to "Krugosor" (3000) and from there to "Mir" (3500) or "Kochek" (3800). Late dinner. 5 day Breakfast, camp collection, exit to Azau station (2350). On the lift to the station "Krugosor" (3000), then on the lift to the station "Mir" (3500), and on the chair to "Kochek" (3800), ascent to the station "Priyut11" (4050), accommodation in the room of one of the "hotels". Snack or dinner depending on the state and health. 6th day Breakfast, radial exit to Pastukhov cliffs (4800), descent to Shelter 11, dinner. 7th day Breakfast. Rest day. Lunch. Dinner at Shelter 11 and preparation for the assault. Weather monitoring (down call, internet). Take off at 20.00 8 days Get up at 2.00, light breakfast. Hot tea or juice in a thermos, snack, cream, walkie-talkie, headlight, navigator-all in an assault backpack. Weather permitting. On the saddle (5200) rest, snack. Assault, if Elbrus permits (5642). 14:00 return point. Late dinner at the shelter. 9th day Breakfast. Descent. Lunch or dinner in Terskol 10 days Departure to Min. Water.
