The Big Rush River
Description:
The Great Shusha River is the right tributary of the Yenisei River. It originates from the Sayan Mountains and flows through the taiga and forest-steppe zones. It flows into the Yenisei 60 km southeast of the Minusinsk railway station (on the Abakan-Taishet line).
The coastal strip with a width of 50 m is part of the nature monument, formed in 1984.
The Big Shush River is part of the excursion state historical and ethnographic museum-reserve "Shushenskoe".
Translated from Turkic languages, "shush" means "bone".
The river gave its name to the village Shushenskoye (Shush) founded in 1744 by Russian Cossacks.
