Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery

The exhibition complex Gallery of Arts, Prechistenka,19 was created during the implementation of the program developed by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Z.K. Tsereteli to transform the Academy and return it to the leading place in Russian culture, which it had in the XYIII and XIX centuries. The creation of the new complex is one of the charitable cultural initiatives carried out by Z.K. Tsereteli along with the foundation of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the restoration of the historical ensemble of buildings of the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. The Dolgorukov Palace, in which the Gallery is located, has an enfilade of wonderful vaulted halls of the first floor, which preserved the architectural space of the XYIII century, and a number of majestic state halls of the second floor, decorated in the middle of the XIX century. It is perfectly adapted to expositional needs, with many dozens of diverse halls and covered courtyards for displaying works of fine art. The new exhibition complex hosts large-scale Russian and international exhibitions dedicated to all types of fine art, architecture and design. In addition, there is a constant wide display of artistic treasures accumulated in the collections of the Academy throughout its history.
