Circus on Tsvetny Boulevard
Russia, 127051, Moscow, Tsvet Boulevard 13
About the company:
The circus on Tsvetny Boulevard was opened at the end of the last century, and can accommodate more than two thousand people. Currently, the circus is led by the son of the legendary Yuri Nikulin - Maxim Nikulin.
The opening of the circus took place in October 1880, and most of the visitors at that time were Moscow merchants. However, Albert Salamonsky tried to attract a less affluent audience through inexpensive tickets to the gallery. Popular were numbers performed by air gymnasts, ballet on skates and performances of clowns. Albert Salamonsky also contributed to the adaptation of the circus program for children, since before that, circuses in Russia were more designed for adult audiences.
In 1919, the circus was nationalized by the Soviet government. From 1985 to 1989, the circus underwent major repairs. For many years there worked such famous clowns as Boris Vyatkin, Pencil, Oleg Popov, and, of course, Yuri Nikulin, whose name was called the circus since 1996.
