About the company:

Moscow International House of Music on the Red Hills was built on the initiative of Moscow Mayor Yuri Mikhailovich Luzhkov and outstanding musician and public figure Vladimir Theodorovich Spivakov at the expense of the Moscow government. Moscow, the universally recognized center of world musical culture, has not built concert halls intended for classical music for more than a hundred years. The first stone in the foundation of the future building was laid on the arrow of Krasnokholmsky Island on September 7, 2000. The construction of the House of Music was completed in 18 months by the Turkish company ENKA under the project of the Association of Theatre Architects LLC (architects Y. Gnedovsky, V. Krasilnikov). On December 26, 2002, a solemn presentation of the House of Music took place, in which Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin took part. Opening the ceremony, the head of state called it “an event not only in the cultural life of Moscow, but also in Russia as a whole” and compared the building of the House of Music with “a beautiful crystal cup”. The House of Music is the main element of a large architectural ensemble, picturesquely located on the Kosmodamian embankment of the Moscow River. From here there is a beautiful view of the ancient Novospassky monastery. The dome of the House of Music is crowned by an emblem in the form of a violin key by Zurab Tsereteli. The height of the structure is 9.5 meters. The key itself weighs about two tons, and the additional parts are another four tons.
