Museum-Reserve Kolomenskoye

Description:

Kolomenskoye is a ceremonial royal country residence.

Even simply listing these four words gives us an idea of the status of a place. The best that the princes and kings had at their disposal was here. After all, the residence of Kolomenskoye became in the 15th century.

The great Moscow princes traveled here, enjoyed their rest surrounded by beautiful nature, remembered their famous ancestors who visited Kolomenskoye - Dmitry Donskoy, Vladimir Brave Ivan Kalita.

The 16th century, together with the reign of Vasily III, gave Kolomnasky the amazing beauty of the Ascension Church, it is listed by UNESCO along with the Kremlin and Novodevichy Monastery.

But the real heyday of the estate received in the 17th century, under Alexei Mikhailovich, the father of Peter I.

Strong businessman, he turned wide. Such a palace was ruined that foreign ambassadors invited here to feasts, began to call it “the eighth wonder of the world”. Imagine a house with 270 rooms and 3,000 windows.

During the tour you will see:

  • front gate complex with a clock tent and a lion roar chamber;
  • celibate
  • The Church of the Ascension of God in the Ascension Square. The first tent church in Russia, it became a model for church architecture. And the temple itself, and the view that opens from the Ascension Square will not leave you indifferent, I guarantee. Isn't that why we're traveling?
  • The church of the Kazan Mother of God, where members of the royal family prayed. Her steps and stone floor remember the unhurried royal step;
  • The only surviving palace of Peter I (this will be a surprise for you!)
  • Water tower, where a white stone well for collecting water was preserved;
  • St. George's bell tower;
  • The Colonel's Chambers and the Courtyard;
  • relict oak grove, with the oldest trees in Moscow - they are 600 years old;
  • The oldest wooden structure in Moscow;
  • Cannons participating in the Battle of Poltava in 1709 "Hurrah, we break - the Swedes bend!";
  • "Borisov Stone" of the 12th century;
  • The palace of Alexei Mikhailovich. Terem or choroma - that's also what it's called. We will go through these choirs and see how the country life of the royal family was arranged. We'll go to the bath.

You will know:

  • History and reasons for the construction of the Ascension Church. "You can't get married." Where do you put the comma?
  • Where did the expression “put in a long box” come from?
  • How was found in Kolomna miraculous icon of the Mother of God “Sovereign”. Those who wish can see it.
  • Why did the king's churches build on high subclets? Nothing sublime, purely practical;
  • where did the expression “Kolomenskaya verst” come from;
  • Why were the king’s beds short?
  • Where did the saying “work through the sleeves” come from?
  • breathtaking stories about places of power in Kolomenskoye and much more.

Call and write, I will be glad to show you the museum-estate Kolomenskoye. It is always interesting to dive into the past to understand and appreciate the present.

Tourists always admire the Ascension Church of the 16th century. It's on the UNESCO list.
