The Lights of Evening Moscow

Oh, these women tonight--

Not like morning women.

Like this in a wonderful transformation.

The sand at the bottom of the sea became pearls.

I took these magnificent poems by Olga Kachanova as an epigraph for my excursion “The Lights of Evening Moscow”, because our capital, as a real woman, is transformed by the evening. The ancient streets of Tverskaya, Nikolskaya, Ilyinka, Varvarka, Volkhonka flooded with lights as precious strings of pearls lead us to the fabulously beautiful Red Square, where the famous Kremlin stars burn with a red ruby.

Illuminated with thoughtful lighting, Stalin skyscrapers become like temples, solemn and inaccessible. The glowing skyscrapers of Moscow City seem to us a distant alien civilization, they are like from the fantastic films of Luke Besson – we are about to see the air taxis of the future scurrying between the giant towers. We will definitely admire Moscow from the height of the Sparrow Mountains, where we will feel the breath of a huge, shimmering metropolis.
The triumphal gate on Kutuzovsky Avenue will allow us to be a little Roman emperors, and the Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill is always decorated in a special way, especially on holidays. And the New Arbat will become an open book for us in the literal sense of the word - after all, it is here that the famous house-books are built. And, of course, the boulevard ring of the capital, the most beautiful Tver Boulevard, Nikitsky, Gogolovsky.
