Alexinskaya Street

Alexinskaya Street, South Butovo District, South-Western District, Moscow

Description:

The street appeared in the XVIII century, when a small village Butovo was formed on the outskirts of Moscow. Alexinskaya street was one of the central in the village and was called by another name.

Many people remember it as Pioneer Lane. The street began to be actively built in the early XX century. After the territory was annexed to the capital, it was named after the city of Alexin, in the Tula region. These changes took place in 1985. There are still some village houses that give the district a rural entourage. But most of it is occupied by high-rise buildings, because it is a sleeping area.

Of the well-known and important buildings on Aleksinskaya Street are the Butovo railway station, as well as the Skobelevsky Street metro station.
