Alymov lane
Alymov Lane, Bogorodskoye District, Eastern District, Moscow
Description:
Previously, on the site of this lane was a village that appeared in the XVI century. Its first owner was Ivan the Terrible. He ordered to build here the Wonderful Monastery and a chapel in honor of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin, which has not survived to this day. The village was named after her.
After the king, the land was transferred to the merchant Alymov. At the same time, the Bogoroditsky was changed to Alymovo. There was a central street in the village. It was also called the village. There was a small alley away from her, also Alymov. Although at one time it was called Cemetery Lane, as it directly led to the cemetery. Already in Soviet times, about 1922, the territory was assigned to the city and the name Alymov was finally fixed behind the alley.
Today in the area of the lane collected mainly high-rise buildings. Near residential buildings there is a metro station Preobrazhenskaya Square.
