Description:

Berezhkovskaya embankment is the most beautiful among the other embankments. It is located in the Dorogomilovo area, between the Krasnoluzhsky and Borodino bridges.

The formation of the embankment begins with the XVI century, on the site of the patriarchal fishing settlement “on the Berezhki”. Over time, the territory of the settlement expands: small enterprises and commodity warehouses are built here. Until the XX century, after the construction of the Kiev railway, at the end of the embankment "grow" Krasnoluzhsky bridge, and after - Dorogomilovsky chemical plant. In 1960, the last part of the settlement was demolished, and at the beginning of the embankment a bridge was built connecting the Berezhkovskaya embankment and the Plyuchya street. Part of the square of the Kiev station is updated, a fountain and a sculptural composition are opened, and the square is called Evpropa Square.

Today, Berezhkovskaya embankment is a favorite place of Muscovites. Here you can relax in the park on the bench, and you can admire the most beautiful Kyiv pedestrian bridge. It looks especially attractive at the end of the day when it is illuminated by bright lights. From the embankment there is a wonderful panorama of Europe Square.
