Church of Boris and Gleb in Zyuzin

perekopskaya street, 7, Zyuzino district, Moscow

Description:

Earlier, on the site of the church was the usual village of Zyuzino, which belonged to princes Prozorovskiy. At the end of the XVII century, the master ordered to build a church on the territory of his land. The wooden temple in the name of the faithful Vladimir was built in a matter of months. A little later, one building for the church seemed not enough, and in 1704, a white brick building in the Moscow Baroque style was attached to it, which was named in honor of the faithful Boris and Gleb. The name stuck to the whole monastery.

In the USSR, in 1938, the temple was closed. In the 50s of the last century, the church was repaired and given to a diamond processing workshop. The jewelers stayed there until 1979, when the building was renovated. At the end of the reconstruction there is an archive of the Ministry of Industry of the USSR. The building was returned to the church after 10 years.

The church is still active today. Its doors are always open to parishioners.
