On the street Big Polyanka stands the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God. It was built in 1695-1697 by sophomore V.F. Poltev. Previously there was Yamskaya Sloboda, but after the period of Troubles, the area was empty.

Later, the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos was the heart of the Cossack settlement, which arose together with new buildings.

Before the appearance of the temple in its place stood the wooden church of Flora and Laurus. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is made of stone, and its style performs baroque - it looks elegant, but modest.
