The Geyser Fountain

Russia, Moscow, square manege

Description:

Most of the fountains in the capital of our country were built in the late XX - early XXI century.
One of them is the Geyser, whose jets resemble a natural geyser: they shoot up and down quickly.

This large fountain complex consists of 12 fountains.

The author of the project is the famous sculptor Zurab Tsereteli.

His creation was launched in 1997, when Moscow celebrated its 850th birthday.

Here in the spring there is a theatrical ceremony of launching all the fountains.

Every year on April 30, at 17 o’clock, the mayor of Moscow launches fountains, pouring water from a crystal horn into it.

There is a capital attraction on Manege Square, metro station Okhotny Ryad.

The second name "Four seasons" he received because of the sculptural composition, which is located in the center - four horses - symbols of winter, spring, summer, autumn.
