One of the mysterious and picturesque buildings of the capital - the fountain "Vitali", built in 1835, attracts guests of the city with grace and some symbolism and excites the minds of local residents with its mysterious history. The construction was carried out by the Russian sculptor of Italian origin Giovanni Vitali.

It is believed that the location of the fountain near the theater is not accidental. The sculptural group is represented by playing angels, symbolizing Music, Comedy, Tragedy and Poetry.

There is a legend that the fountain is a secret entrance to the subway. Initially, the building served as a source of drinking water for the citizens, and the bowls on the sides were used for watering horses. Finding an elegant sculptural group is not difficult. It is located in the square in front of the Bolshoi Theatre behind the monument to Karl Marx. The object is within walking distance from the metro stations “Revolution Square”, “Hunting Row” and “Theater”.
