The Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God in Petrovsky Park
Description:
In the Petrovsky Park of the city of Moscow there is an Orthodox Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin.
The history of the Temple began in 1841, when Anna Naryshkina turned to the emperor and metropolitan with the idea of erecting a Temple in Petrovsky Park.
The architect was a well-known and respected Evgraf Tyurin, but his project did not suit the emperor, so Fyodor Richter was appointed after him.
The temple was built entirely on the money of Anna Naryshkina.
After the revolution, little is known about the fate of the temple. He became subordinate to the Zhukovsky Academy. Throughout the Soviet period it was used as a warehouse.
In 1991, the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church.
In the year of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the temple was restored and opened.
