Temple of Boris and Gleb in Degunin

deguninska Street, 18a, Moscow

Description:

In the North-Eastern district of the city of Moscow, in Degunino is the building of the Orthodox Church named after the holy princes Boris and Gleb. According to historical sources, the temple was built in 1585, and then it was burned by enemy forces of the Poles and Livonians. The restoration of the building began in 1633, and at this time it received a different name, however, soon by order of the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, the church was called Borisoglebskaya.

With the advent of Soviet power, services were not held in the temple, since there were no priests. The building was given to various city services, and in 1991 the building was again under the wing of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The ministry of priests takes place in this place every day, continuously. There is also a Sunday school here.
