Kotelnica promenade
Moscow, Kotelnicheskaya embankment.
Description:
Kotelnicheska embankment is located on the left bank of the Moscow River in the Central District of the city of Moscow, Taganskaya district. The beginning takes from the Small Ustinsky Bridge and goes to the Pottery Embankment at the First Pottery Lane. With a length of 907 meters, with a width of 23 meters, it is famous for its views of the waters of the Moscow River.
The name comes from the distant 1623. Here was Sloboda Kotelnikov, who were engaged in the production and sale of boilers. The settlement itself consisted of 7 yards, and the settlement was considered small. After 20 years, the boiler house did not exist. Residents inhabited parishes, silver and servants.
Interestingly, earlier the circulation of buildings was directed from the embankment to the courtyards, and along the river coast there were household landfills and there was absolutely no message. Only under Peter 1, after the decree in 1722, began to build roads. The waterfront became a pass, fortified and species. And since Petrovsky times, we already read all the alleys on the map.
After the October Revolution, the appearance of the embankment changed. Asphalt, granite slabs appeared; lighting was carried out and multi-storey buildings of various departments appeared.
Today, of course, the view embankment of the Moscow river is in full compliance with the capital's embankment. Unique views, architectural buildings, improved resting places along the length of the embankment, lighting and mosaic paths of a wide pedestrian part.
All this makes up the overall cozy picture of the Kotelnicheska embankment of old Moscow.
