A boring garden in the city of Moscow

moscow, Leninsky Prospect, 30

Description:

The garden is located in the center of Moscow, between the Green Theatre and the Third Transport Ring. Its territory is more than forty hectares.

The garden is considered one of the oldest parks in Moscow. Its history dates back to the XVIII century, when the estates of Dolgoruky, Golitsyn, Demidov and Trubetskoy were built in this area. Later, in the first half of the XIX century, some of them were bought for the construction of the First Grad and Golitsyn hospitals. The other part was bought by Emperor Nicholas I. She formed a park complex, which was called the Neskogo Garden.

On its territory, old buildings of architectural value have been preserved: the Summer House and the library-reading room located in it, the Bathhouse at the Catherine Pond, the Orlov House, the three-span arched bridge and the Hunting House on the brow of the Andreevsky ravine. It is worth noting that in the latter are shooting the famous television program “What?” Where? When?

In 1923, the All-Russian Agricultural and Handicraft Industrial Exhibition was opened in the Golitsynsky Garden. In 1928, its territory was merged with the Neskuchny Garden into the Central Park of Culture and Recreation, which was later named after the writer Maxim Gorky.

Currently, Neskuchny Garden is a popular holiday destination among Muscovites. Various entertainment events, discos are regularly held here. For children built a summer circus "Fun Arena". There are also various cafes and restaurants in the park where you can relax and dine with the whole family.
