Garden "Aquarium" in Moscow

Garden with an unusual name right next to the theater. Moscow Council is a cozy, green patch of peace in the heart of noisy and fast-paced Moscow. In the restored park there are paths, comfortable benches, the landscape is decorated with fountains, in the evening decorative illumination is arranged.

It is one of the many parks and parks in the city. In more ancient times, the Aquarium garden occupied a prominent place in the theatrical life of Moscow. It appeared thanks to the Moscow landlord Malkiel, who in 1893 opened a garden here and called it “Chicago”. On this territory, decorated with a fountain, several concert stage and the theater "Aquarium" (now - the Moscow Council), which subsequently gave the name to the garden, united. By the way, in the 18-19th century, the garden land was occupied by vegetable gardens and the pond of the Novodevichy Monastery. This theater was a notable phenomenon in Moscow, cultural life was a key here.

In 1975, it was decided to protect the garden from the street and arrange a recreation area there. What was done: there was an openwork fence that separated the green zone from the street. In 2001, the garden was significantly updated and acquired its modern appearance. But it still remains one of the favorite places of recreation of citizens.
