Luzhkov bridge
Between Bolotnaya Square with Kadashevskaya embankment
Description:
An elegant bridge across the canal, lined with iron trees, is called Luzhkov Bridge. On the branches of trees are clusters of hinged castles, which is the last word in wedding fashion.
In many cities there is a tradition to hang a hanging castle on the bridge with the names of a happy couple. Moscow is no different. But when the bridge was covered with these hanging locks (no one really knows why this bridge was chosen), the architect thought about putting metal trees here.
When there was no room for love trees on the bridge, they were transplanted onto the embankment, and new ones appeared on the bridge. This custom became popular.
When the newlyweds close the castle, they throw the key into the Moscow River. If this is not done, the meaning of the ritual will be lost, and the couple will quarrel in the shortest possible time. On the other side of the canal, right by the bridge, there is a bench for reconciliation.
You can get to the bridge by metro to the Tretyakovskaya and Novokuznetskaya stations.
