Monument to Lesya Ukrainka
Description:
The original sculpture of the outstanding Ukrainian poetess Larisa Kosach-Kvitka is located on the Ukrainian Boulevard. Known all over the world under the creative pseudonym Lesya Ukrainka, she worked in various genres from poetry to epic and folkloristics. Among the well-known works: the drama extravaganza “Forest Song”, the drama “Boyaryn”, a collection of poems “On the wings of songs” and “Cassandra”.
The monument to Lesia Ukrainka in Moscow was presented in 2006. An inspired poet stands by a young tree that aspires to the sky. On one of the branches sits a bird, like a dove. Lesya looks like her poetry - completely spiritualized with a love of life. In a simple dress and with books in her hands, her bronze statue looks gentle and natural. The monument was created by sculptor Alexander Burganov.
To get to the Ukrainian Boulevard and see the monument, you need to come to the Kievskaya metro station, bypass the Evropeisky shopping center and walk 80 meters.
