Monument to Repin
Marsh Square 18, Moscow, Russia.
Description:
Ilya Efimovich Repin is a famous Russian artist. His paintings are not only in Russian, but also in world galleries. In 1958, the famous sculptor Matvey Manizer created this monument.
Most Soviet monuments depicted a man in a working atmosphere. This sculpture was no exception. The bronze figure of Ilya Efimovich is on the pedestal. In his left hand, the painter holds a palette, and the right is arranged as if the artist is now taking a brush. He has a free posture, his head is slightly tilted down, as if looking at the future object of the image.
The monument is located on Bolotnaya Square. To visit it, you need to get off at the Tretyakovskaya metro station. The place to install the monument is not accidental. Nearby is the Tretyakov Gallery, which houses many works of the artist.
