Park "Red Presnya" in Moscow

moscow, street. Mantulinskaya, 5

Description:

Park "Krasnaya Presnya" was founded in 1932 on the site of the estate "Student" and is a monument of history and architecture, a monument of landscape art of XVIII-XIX centuries of federal significance.

At the end of the XVIII century the estate belonged to the princes Gagarin, who laid the foundation for the landscape style of the park, breaking the system of Dutch ponds.

In 1812, the estate passed into the possession of the Moscow Governor-General Zakrevsky A.A., who, under the leadership of the architect D. Zhilardi, built an original memorial complex in memory of the heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812 and reconstructed the territory.

To this day, the natural ensemble of the park has been preserved - ancient alleys, picturesque Dutch ponds with islands and arched bridges.

It is no coincidence that contemporaries called the estate “Student” “absolute Venice in the gardens”. A. Pushkin, D. Davydov, E. Baratynsky strolled along the alleys of the park.

Today, Krasnaya Presnya Park is a modern space for recreation of the Moscow intelligentsia.

In the park, everyone will find something of their own - a breath of air in the race of the working day, sports and developing leisure, cultural recreation available to all.
