Amilcar Cabral Square

Eastern administrative district of Moscow, the territory of the area "Veshnyaki". At the intersection of Veshnyakovskaya and Moldagulova streets.

Description:

Amilkar Cabral Square is located in Moscow on the territory of the Eastern Administrative District, near the Veshnyaki district. The square is located at the intersection of Moldagulova and Veshnyakovskaya streets. The name was adopted on January 16, 1974.

It is known that the origin of the name has its own history, because the square was named after the political and military figure of the national liberation movement of Guinea-Bissau and the Cape Verde Islands - Amilcar Cabral. He also represented the Military Council of the Revolutionary People’s Forces and carried out colossal work to liberate the first detachments of partisans. It is also established that the leader of the aforementioned movement was viciously murdered on January 20, 1973, a year later, after which the square began to bear his name.

Near the square there is a metro station Vykhino, and as for other public transport, both Veshnyakovskaya Street and Moldagulova Street regularly pass a sufficient number of buses, as well as trolleybuses (on Veshnyakovskaya Street).
