Friday Street

Moscow

Description:

Friday street is a street in the area of Zamoskvorechye. Originated originally from one of the few old Moscow roads to the south - to Ryazan, Tula, Serpukhov. It was laid in Zamoskvorechye at a time when this area was still covered with forests that reached the shore of the Moscow River. And today, despite the relative narrowness of the carriageway and one-way traffic, it remains an important transport highway in the historical, protected part of Moscow. The name of Pyatnitskaya Street comes from the name of the Paraskeva Friday chapel in the church, once located where the ground lobby of the Novokuznetskaya metro station is now located.
