Destroyed water stadium "Dynamo"

Leningrad Highway, 39 Moscow, Russia

Description:

Dynamo Water Stadium is located near the Khimki reservoir, in the Northern District of Moscow, not far from the Leningrad highway.

The complex was opened in 1935, according to the project of architect G. Y. Movchan. Originally called Dynamo Water Station, it was an outdoor sports complex for water sports.

During the entire existence of the complex, no repairs were made here. Only in 1980, before the Olympics, a minor cosmetic restoration was carried out. By 2000, the complex was in an emergency condition.

In 2005, the Moscow City Government and a group of investors signed a restoration agreement. Soon, in 2007, the Royal Yacht Club was opened here, and in 2011 the Vodny restaurant was opened.

On the website of the current owner of the complex, you can read information about this place - "The first beach in the whole city, with a pier and pool, inscribed in the architecture of the 30s, which has undergone careful restoration."
