Russian State Library

Moscow, st. Excitement, 3/5

Description:

The Russian State Library is one of the most famous and majestic places in the capital. The creation of the library is closely connected with Count Rumyantsev, who became its main investor in the 19th century. Rumyantsev wanted to build something that included the history of the Russian state, folk art, the beginning of writing, a collection of works and much more.

Historically, the library was originally located in St. Petersburg, but later it was moved to Moscow. The state of the library, the lack of new books and chronicles was the main reason for moving to the capital.

The State Library is visited not only by connoisseurs of art and books, but also by young people, schoolchildren and students from all over the Russian Federation.

You can get to this amazing sight on the subway: station "Borovitskaya", "Arbatskaya" or "Lenin Library". You will not regret the time spent.
