Swiss house of the estate "Kuskovo"
Description:
The Swiss house in Kuskovo is the last building in the Sheremetev estate. The designer of this cultural and historical heritage is the academician of architecture Nikolai Benois. The image of the house he created in the form of an alpine chalet in 1870.
Because of its unusual artful painting under brickwork, the first floor visually seems made of brick, although the entire structure is completely wooden. Carving wood with patterned inserts made porch, railing and swinging doors. The European style of design at that time did not provide for any shutters or casings, so all window openings have bindings that facilitate glazing. The balcony on the second floor is located around the perimeter of the building and serves as a terrace.
The Swiss house is connected by an alleyway with neatly trimmed shrubs with a count's residence. Sergey Dmitrievich, the last owner of the Kuskovo estate, preferred to live in a Swiss house instead of a luxurious palace. From a distance, the building seems like a good modern mansion. Since the Swiss house is occupied by the museum administration, you can only see it from the outside.
You can get to the estate from the Ryazansky Prospekt metro by buses No. 133 and No. 208, from the Vykhino metro by bus No. 620 and from the Novogireyevo metro by buses No. 615, No. 247 and No. 884 or by trolleybus No. 64 and No. 75.
