Sculpture "Friendship Cheese"

crossing of Rustaveli Street and Garden Passage, Moscow, Russia

Description:

Monument "Cheese "Friendship" is located at the intersection of Garden Passage and Rustaveli Street. The monument was created based on the fable “The Crow and the Fox” and depicts a fox and a crow with a piece of cheese “Friendship”, which made them “friend”.

In 2004, the first Cheese Festival decided to erect a monument to cheese. A competition was announced and a jury was appointed, which chose the winners - the father and son of Shcherbakov. The Shcherbakovs created the sculpture "Cheese "Friendship", which is now of great importance for Russian residents - it has become a symbol of peace, harmony and friendship. The monument was included in the list of “Most unusual monuments of Moscow”, which contains a monument to the janitor, the Museum of theft named after Yuri Detochkin, and many others.

The sculpture attracts attention not only by a close-knit team, but also gives memories of the Soviet era, at a time when there were deli, discos were held on Fridays, and many lived in student dormitories. The monument attracts the attention of both city residents and tourists, guests of Moscow, caught at the intersection of two streets.
