Description:
The Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos is located on the Silver and Grape Pond, in the Izmailovo area, and belongs to the Moscow city diocese. The temple was built for the royal estate and consecrated in the 17th century. Today it is an object of cultural heritage of Russia.
The church is a monumental three-nave brick structure with white-stone parts, crowned with 5 chapters. The facade of the building is decorated with outstanding tiles of different colors with patterns and ornament. The interior of the temple was completely destroyed during the wars and the change of power. The work of the church resumed only in the 90s of the last century. In 2001-2002, a new iconostasis appeared in the temple.
