Kolomenskoye, Moscow, Russia

Description:

Currently, the statue "Polovetskaya Baba" is located in the park of the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve in Moscow. Previously, it was far from this city, but in the 30s of the 20th century it was redirected to this place.

The statue "Polovetska Baba" is made of solid stone in the 12th century. Initially, the statue was a gravestone monument, which was located on the mound of a certain Polovtsev-kuman. The word "baba" from the ancient translates as "ancestor".

Currently, the statue "Polovetskaya Baba" is a historical and cultural heritage, which is already 900 years old. The statue looks like a rough figure of a woman, next to a tablet that tells the history of this monument.

This attraction can be reached by metro. Stop at the station "Kolomenskoye", after that you need to walk a little to the museum-reserve. It is here that near the house of Peter I and the centuries-old oak trees there is a statue of the Polovtska Baba.
