Description:

Alabyan Street, located in the Northern Administrative District, appeared since the construction of the Sokol district in the 1950s, and received the name in 1959, in honor of the famous architect of Soviet times - Karo Semyonovich Alabyan.

Alabyan himself became famous for such works as the projects (co-authored) of the pavilions of the USSR at the exhibition in New York, and the Armenian SSR at the VSHV (now VVC) in Moscow, the project of the Central Theater of the Red Army and the project of the metro lobby “Krasnopresnenskaya”. Alabyan led a team of architects who worked on the project of reconstruction of Stalingrad during the Great Patriotic War. In his last years, he was the chief architect of the Leningrad district, and took part in the preparation of the Khimki-Khovrino district project.

Previously, the street, now named after the famous architect, was only Projected passage 971, one of many in Moscow.
