Sretenka Street
Description:
Sretenka is one of the most ancient streets of Moscow. It was the main street of the capital until the 18th century. The names of the Sretensky lanes speak of merchants and artisans who once lived here: Meat, Kolokolnikov, Pechatnikov, Prosvirnin, Pushkarev - only 9 lanes on the right and 7 on the left. At the end of the street is the Sukharevsky market.
Of the sights of the street, it is worth noting the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin in Printers and the Temple of the Life-Giving Trinity in Listy, the Sukharev Tower built in the 17th century, apartment houses and other interesting objects. There are also two metro stations – Turgenevskaya and Sukharevskaya.
