Description:

Grachevka - estate in Khovrino, in the 15-16 centuries was a suburban estate of the Tretyakov-Khovrins. Initially, it belonged to the merchant scion Georgy Safarin, for his uncleanliness and untidyness called Khovra. Subsequently, this nickname was changed to the name of the merchant family and became the name of this area.

In troubled difficult times, the estate turns into a wasteland and only in the 18th century by decree of Peter I goes into the possession of Count Golovin, a direct descendant of the Khovrins. Golovin’s estate was owned for more than a century, during this time a good lord’s house of wood with a driveway, a stone Znamenskaya church, a picturesque park on the Likhoborka river was built.

The last owner of the estate at the end of the 19th century becomes Mitrofan Grachev. Being a big fan of casino architecture in Monte Carlo, Grachev built a mansion in exactly the same style with elegant stucco, towers and using modernist sculpture.

As part of Moscow Grachevsky Park since 1960. You can get to the sights from the Khovrino metro, the River Station and the White Sea.
