Moscow stands on seven hills. The mountains are located on the highest of them. This is a forest park zone with an observation deck, which offers beautiful views of such architectural structures of the capital as Moscow City, the Luzhniki sports complex and the Novodevichy Monastery. Adults and children love to relax in this area at any time of the year.
The observation deck of the Sparrow Mountains rises above the river by 80 m. It can be reached on the operating funicular, which was launched in 1953.
Many attractions are located in the park. This is the main building of Moscow State University, and the botanical garden, which spread over 30 hectares of Sparrow Hills. More than 5 thousand plants are planted there, including exotic ones, for which a special zone is allocated.
On the territory of the Sparrow Mountains, most of the attractions can be visited by ordering one of the sightseeing excursions. Getting to the Sparrow Mountains by metro is not difficult. The nearest metro station to the observation deck is called “Sparrow Mountains” and is located on the red metro line.
