About the company:
The decision to open the regional museum on a voluntary basis was made on November 9, 1968 by the Executive Committee of the Balashikha City Council. Many city institutions and enterprises took an active part in the creation of the museum, helping, as far as possible, with materials, equipment and labor. The collection of exhibits was attended by museum staff, local historians, as well as teachers and students of all city schools.
To date, the museum has almost 19,000 objects. The foundation of the fund consists of collections of documents and photographs, as well as a large collection of household items of the XIX-XX centuries. So, for example, there is a personal archive of the famous sculptor G. D. Alekseev, a collection of documents by V. A. Kusov - director of the S. V. Obraztsov Puppet Theater, a collection of photographs by the Soviet correspondent V. A. Temin.
Currently, the museum has 4 halls, in which permanent exhibitions reflecting the history of the region from ancient times to the present day. Another 2 halls are exhibition halls. Every 1.5-2 months they host thematic exhibitions: art, historical and ethnographic, biological and others.
